I believe this is our most special and luxurious product yet.  It’s feminine, classically shaped and has a cute fashion edge.  Oh and it happens to be co-designed by the hottest new textile designer around!  What is it?  Well let me introduce you to the Nikki Kimono.

Hello? Anyone need a Kimono?

What a lovely view!

What a lovely view!  And it was in south London, when can we move in 😉

Nikki Strange just so happens to be an old childhood school friend of Betty.  They used to dream up big ideas in their GCSE textiles class and occasionally indulged in a little underage drinking and mischief at the local park together.  So it was a natural choice to collaborate with Nikki as Betty had set up her own business, and Nikki had become an awesome freelance textiles/print designer.  You may have seen Nikki’s work recently – she is the designer behind Marks and Spencer’s latest Limited Collection beauty range.

Nikki’s modern, feminine and quirky style has won her legions of fans on social media

Here is what Betty has to say about the collaboration:

“Nikki and I wanted to create a print and garment that reflected both of our styles.  The result was to create a Kimono that had a traditional feel and shape to it to tie in with Betty Blue’s Loungerie designs and our vintage loving customers, but incorporating a fun and more trend lead design with an exotic and eclectic mix that is so distinctive in Nikki’s textile prints. Inspiration was taken from inky hand drawn florals and traditional Japanese chrysanthemums adding in a beautiful washed watercolour background with pops of trend lead SS15 colours. The result is a contemporary and colourful Kimono in a classic shape that Vintage lovers and fashionistas alike will love”

This beautiful Kimono is quite a bold piece for Betty being a more directional and modern design.  We think however that Betty’s Belles will love the mix of the traditional Japanese florals on the Kimono, mixed with drips of inks in trend lead colours.  The colour palette matches perfectly with the new Tempest set in Tiffany Blue so you can mix and match the new season items.  The Kimono is trimmed in the same beautiful blue silk used in the Tiffany Blue Tempest Briefs, tying the whole SS15 collections together.

We had our print printed onto a high quality crepe 100% silk, right here in the UK.  The Kimono is SUPER LIMITED EDITION, with each robe being numbered on the label inside as well as coming with a numbered certificate.  So you can be safe in the knowledge that you won’t bump into someone with the same Kimono as you.  It retails at £650 and is our most exclusive and luxurious item to date.  So start saving your pennies for when these babies arrive mid March.

If you just HAVE to get your hands on one of these beauties and can’t possibly wait a few more weeks give us an email at:

We can absolutely put aside one of these rare as hens teeth Kimonos with a 50% holding deposit.  So when the Kimonos are sent to us by our fabulous London, UK based factory, we can send it straight to your doorstep.

And lastly on this image heavy post we have a close up of the print in our product shots so that you can see Nikki’s work in all it’s glory.  It is amazing in print, but I can tell you it is absolutely STUNNING in person, especially on the luxurious silk satin.
