Hello everybody! It’s been a while since we have updated you all. Well this is because we worked really really hard for our AW15 photo shoot which was last    week. It all went fabulously and I am assured by our photographer, Mat Keller, that we got some AWESOME shots. We even had a little ‘extra’ model, Freida  who is in this photo with our boss Betty. As sausage dog fans here at Blue’s HQ, we just HAD to get a little doggie into at least one of our shoots!!! And that time  has finally come. For now the pictures and products are top secret, but you will of course get to see them eventually.

Anyway this post is a rather exciting little post about a great scheme we are taking part in this year. It is known to those in the know, as ‘Lingerie Secret Santa’.  Now in it’s second year, the scheme has been dreamed up in order to promote as much as possible, the importance (and excitement!) of ordering Christmas  gifts from independent businesses. And well really it’s just a great excuse for us lingerie geeks to get pretty gifts. Last year about 10 brands took part and it was  a great success. Everyone gave and received a lovely gift of lingerie goodness and there were smiles all round. It gives you the reader an excellent selection  of blog posts/tweets/facebook posts/newsletters to sift through from lots of different brands, and make you think a little out side the box about Christmas gifts  for loved ones this year.

This year around 15 AMAZING independent brands are taking part. Their names are put into a big metaphorical bowl and swished around, then you get given a name from said bowl of who you are giving a gift to. You are given the recipients sizing and colour/style preferences and then you give a gift up to a certain value to that person from your brand. You can give them an item from stock if you are an off the peg business, or create a bespoke item if say you are a corseteire or other such similar business.

Once you have a gift for the person, we are to wrap them up nicely, take lots of pictures and tell all our readers/followers/fans about the gift we are giving. Then it’s off to old Santa Clause to be gifted on Christmas Day. As it is a secret Santa, we will be receiving a gift from another company too – or rather Betty will. So I’m sure you will see soon the gift from a fabulous independent business that Betty is given.

“I wanted to give my ‘giftee’ a present that I think she will get lots of use out of, and something that best represents what Betty Blue’s Loungerie is all about.  Being a fellow self employed lady, lounge wear is something we probably wear the most of in our wardrobe.  What better than this practical little bed jacket!  It’s glamorous, comfortable and a little bit extravagant  What better to wear when this certain lady is reading in bed (business books of course!) or opening the door to the postman when caught in her nightie (you have no idea how often this happens to me!).  This lady also has amazing vital statistics.  The pleat in the back of the jacket ensures that it will move with and stretch around her ample bosom.  I hope this cute jacket will add a little lavishness and sophistication to her every day life.  And if all else fails – everyone loves silk right?!”
