Another new item on the blog here this evening, the third and last in the AW14 100% Silk series. Love the Heather Bettie Nightgown but don’t quite want to commit to the matching Heather Bettie Robe? Perhaps you like to read in bed before switching the lights out, or even indulge in breakfast in bed, but your shoulders and arms get a little chilly. Well here is your solution, the Heather Bettie Bed Jacket in 100% Silk satin.
This sweet, 1940’s inspired, little bed jacket is perfect for chilly Autumn evenings. It ties at the neck into a gorgeous satin bow and is a ‘swing’ style to accommodate many bust sizes. At the front there are darts and at the back it has a kick pleat providing a fitted top half and a full body, so comfortable for lounging in! In a gorgeous deep and luxurious purple that is set to be the hottest colour trend this season, this versatile little jacket wouldn’t look out of place over a party dress, another reason to invest in this silk beauty!
The 100% Silk Bettie Collection is certainly one of our most luxurious and exquisite collections yet, and will of course have a price tag to reflect this. Last week I (Betty) visited a silk mill in Hampshire to learn about how silk fabric is woven from this most exclusive and lustrous of fibres. I learnt a huge amount about the process which really gave me a new appreciation for the cost of silk. Next blog post I will tell you all about the process so you too can truly appreciate the skill and techniques that go into silk spinning and weaving.
On another note don’t forget we also produce our garments ethically; all of our garments are made right here in old Blighty (aka the UK) helping supporting a community of highly skilled seamstresses, cutters and makers! We take pride in our ethical approach, you can read about it here, as we think it adds that little extra touch of luxury to our products. You can feel good about yourselves for buying from Betty Blue’s Loungerie, knowing our factories pay their workers a fair wage!
Anyway that’s enough patting each other on the back, we all know how awesome you are as you are reading this post! Stay tuned to the blog for that post on Whitchurch Silk Mill and even more lovely new products. I think I might show off some of the up and coming Betty Bridal items, they have certainly made a splash across blogs and magazines in the last few weeks 😉
Lots of Love
